Movies I watched today
Revolutionary Road: I was expecting it to relate the very gradual process of Leo’s and Kate’s disillusionment, but the movie sort of plunged right into the depths of it, and explored every possible nook and cranny of their suburban neurosis for two hours. Not that that was a bad thing. I thought it was really good: well written and well acted, and it never got too preachy about love...

Color meets language. I can die happy.
It was a mistake to come to the beach with my mom after my dad and my sister backed out. Just sitting around with her, her Minnesotan cousin, and her Minnesotan cousin’s Minnesotan Iowan friend. Sorry y’all, I didn’t bring any recipes to exchange. Haven’t found the time to read the latest Jodi Picoult novel. And somehow I forgot to pack my speed-walking shoes. Gonna go eat...
Discovering the huge tubs of yogurt they sell at the grocery store is the best thing that ever happened to me. Parfaits 24/7.

We went into Rehoboth last night.
So many Sammi Sweehearts trying to get laid. So many Snookis chewing gum and drunkenly stumbling after their more attractive friends. So many Situations standing outside the bars straight up whistling at people.
I hope this is just Memorial Day weekend ‘cause I can’t deal with the madness all summer.

Joseph Epstein: A fantasy life →
“A midlife crisis would not have done for me. I have never been one to believe he can make dramatic shifts in his own life, upsetting all the standard stages and plans. I have instead believed in living the prosaic life, going at things day by day, and hoping to evade such unexpected thunderbolts as serious illness, economic disaster and early death, my own or that of those dearest to me....

Dad: So what plans do you have this weekend?
Me: I think Bea is coming over to work on a math project on Sunday.
Dad: You should go see that Bankskee movie you've been talking about.
Me: No, I think I'm just gonna stay home. I have a lot of final projects.
Dad: Listen, you really should go out more lately.
Me: Yeah...
I want to go to there. →

I’m about to lose any English kudos I might have felt tonight by failing my IOP tomorrow. Hahahawaahwaaahhhhhhhwah :(((((((((((((((((
Yikes
I think I coaxed myself into thinking that the school year and all of its stress had ended after APs and IBs.
Wrong. The next two weeks are aboutta be more stressful than the last.

Things that confuse me
Africans that have disdain and contempt for black Americans.
Latinos of other nationalities that hate Mexicans and Salvadorians for besmirching their reputation in the eye of the public.
You seem to be under the impression that you don’t deserve society’s prejudgment, that they’re the ones who are lazy and uneducated and poor.
It’s funny because ultimately the people...

Life is good
Just had a huge family dinner: flank steak, sangria, cobbler, conversation.
Had my last Amigos training today; I’m so happy for all the lil’ns that get to go to their respective countries this summer.
Have an hour of Enviro tomorrow and nothing else.
Have to choose between three really good options for this summer.
Beautiful weather.

Looking at Facebook albums of Prom,
the ultimate test of whether I should have gone. Not feeling as bad about missing it as I thought I would.
Werkin' on layout until 9:00 p.m.
That’s what’s up.
I’m getting really eager to actually see and touch the printed, fully-bound, metallically tinted, real deal.
